Dhemaji: An unfortunate incident has taken place in the Dhemaji district of Assam on May 9 where an individual has died and another has sustained injuries after a passenger train crashed into their car.

The tragic accident reportedly took place in the Bordoloni-Dhemaji section in the Dhemaji district of Assam.

Naharlagun-Tinsukia intercity express was the name of the train that was involved in the collision.

The accident occurred when the train was on its way to Tinsukia in Assam from Naharlagun in Arunachal Pradesh.

The deceased person has been identified as Dimple Borgohain while the injured has been identified as Amravati Doley.

Earlier, in a similar incident, a speeding train hit a father-son duo and the collision led to their death. The incident occurred at Bilasipara in the Dhubri district of Assam on May 7.

The incident took place at around 9 am when the Dhubri-Kamakhya fast passenger train was crossing the railway bridge over the Sankosh River in Bilasipara.

The train was travelling towards Kamakhya in Guwahati from Dhubri.

The deceased had been identified as Yusuf Ali (40) and his son Saidur Islam and they hailed from Jamunatari village of Kokrajhar district.

The locals had said that the father-son duo were not aware of a train passing by when they were crossing the bridge and they did not know about it as they were not residents of the area.
