GUWAHATI: The Assam Police announced a reward of Rs 5 lakh for information leading to the arrest of each of the individuals involved in the barbaric killing of the Assam Police personnel on July 26th, 2021.

The incident took place at Inner Line Reserve Forest area of Cachar district, Assam along National Highway 306, around 1.7 km southwards from Lailapur.

On the other hand, a team including officers of CID are leaving for Delhi to take lawful action relating to the conspiracy behind the incident in light of a media interview of Rajya Sabha MP Sri K Vanlalvena indicative of his active role in the conspiracy.

Meanwhile, Dholai PS Case No 236/21 under sections 12 (B),447,336,379,333,307,302 IPC read with Section 25 (1-A) of Arms Act and Section 3 of Prevention of Damage to Public property Act 1984 has been registered on July 27th, 2021 about killing of Assam Police personnel on July 26th.

Following the clash at the Assam-Mizoram border, Union Home Secretary Ajay Bhalla and Chief Secretary of Mizoram, Lalnunmawia Chuaungo, and DGP SBK Singh have begun in New Delhi.

Home Secretary Bhalla would be meeting Assam Chief Secretary Jishnu Barua and Assam DGP Bhaskar Jyoti Mahanta at 4 PM today. Other senior officers of the MHA, as well as intelligence agencies and paramilitary forces, are expected to attend the meeting

A meeting of the Union Home Secretary and the Chief Secretaries and DGPs of both the states was held earlier this month to discuss the ongoing inter-state border dispute. Despite the meeting being held, violence broke out at the border resulting in casualties and injuries.
