GUWAHATI: Police arrested two candidates with fake ID cards in Jorabat of Assam's Kamrup Metropolitan district, when they came to sit for a recruitment exam.
The two candidates reportedly came to appear in the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) camp, which was held in 9 Mile in Guwahati on Wednesday.
It has been reported that the two candidates hail from Allahabad, Uttar Pradesh. However, they presented fake identity cards that claimed them to be residents of Assam.
Locals in the area nabbed the duo red-handed and later turned them over to the Jorabat Police.
Police interrogation led to the revelation that the two miscreants acquired fake identity cards by paying RS 3 lakhs to brokers.
In a similar turn of events, another man from Uttar Pradesh was apprehended in the 9 Mile area of Guwahati. The Police arrested a man hailing from Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh on Tuesday midnight. This man used unfair means in the same Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) examination.
This man produced fake PRC from Assam to sit for the said examination and the police apprehended him for the same. The candidate has been identified as Shivam Yadav.
The Jorabat Police Outpost In-charge reported that they arrested the man with his guardian from 9 Mile. A case was registered against him at the Paltan Bazar Police Station and consequently, the Jorabat Police handed him over to the Paltan Bazar Police Station.
In the Month of May, the Police also arrested four dummy candidates in the physical exam for the post of general duty constable in the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF). The Police arrested these four fake candidates who came to appear for four other candidates from the CRPF Group Centre at 9 Mile. They were caught red-handed when the authority noticed discrepancies in the produced documents.
