Assam Police arrested drug peddlers in Golaghat district

GOLAGHAT: Drugs-related cases are rising in Golaghat district since the past few days. Golaghat Police arrested two drug peddlers from Begenakhova of Golaghat on Monday.

A police team led by Deepak Kumar Bora, the in-charge of Golaghat police station, arrested Sanju Ali and Shabnam Ali. The couple brought the drugs from Dimapur of Nagaland to Jorhat in a Wagon R vehicle bearing number AS 01 Z 7163. According to the police officer, Sanju Ali hid a packet of drugs worth Rs 5,00,000 in his wife's private parts. Sanju Ali is also associated with many other crimes, said police sources.
