BISWANATH CHARIALI: The Assam Police bikers team led by Assistant Inspector General of Police (Sports) Anand Mishra, IPS, was accorded a warm welcome in Biswanath district on Wednesday with gayan bayan while the team arrived here as a part of its celebration of winning the President's Colour honour. Biswanath Superintendent of Police, Nabin Singh greeted the 'Ride of Pride' riders in a ceremonial function organised at the office of the Superintendent of Police, Biswanath Chariali.

Earlier the team was escorted by a bike rider team of Biswanath Police to Biswanath Chariali town. The programme was also supported by the NCC Cadets of Biswanath College and local civilians.

Later, talking to media persons, Anand Mishra elaborated about the initiative taken by Assam Police. He also laid importance on wearing helmets while riding bikes. Assistant Superintendent of Police Kulendra Nath Deka, Deputy Superintendent of Police (HQ) Jayanta Baruah, Officer in Charge of Biswanath Chariali Police Station Sanjit Ray and others were present in the programme.
