GUWAHATI: As per the news surfaced on Wednesday, the Assam police detained a fraudster from Haryana who had defrauded multiple individuals.
Sources claim that the Sivasagar police detained Ravi Kedia, a scammer who defrauded his victims out of lakhs of rupees. The police tracked down the scammer and detained him in Haryana as a result of numerous complaints.
A guy was detained by Chandmari Police earlier in January on suspicion of operating a fake travel business and scamming clients in Guwahati. According to officials, the accused operated a tour company called "Visa Service and Discovery Tours and Travels" in the Paltan Bazar neighbourhood of Guwahati.
The cops recognised him as Angshuman Pal. Officials claim that Pal defrauded a consumer who wanted to fly to the United Kingdom. The accused took a huge amount of Rs 1.8 lakhs in the name of providing him a visa and flight ticket expenses. The man who gave the money on 1st of January, registered a complaint on suspicion grounds. Chandmari police after an investigation arrested the fraud who also looted other people in the past.
An owner of a travel agency rented vehicles from varied people and sold them without any sort of consent to other people. The arrest has been made on 23rd of January, Monday. As per sources, the accused has been identified as Rishi Rajkhowa, a resident of Kamrup.
The concerned police department nabbed the accused after receiving several complaints from people against Rishi. The complaints were lodged by vehicle owners who gave away their cars to the accused, and did not get them back.
Once the vehicles were sent for rent, it started to disappear from the agency. Rajkhowa was the owner of Gear Up Agency. Based on the complaints, police initiated an operation and recovered 10 vehicles from Assam’s Nagaon, Morigaon district and few more regions of the state.
