Assam Police Makes Strides in Curbing Drug Trafficking; Major Seizures and Arrests Done

GUWAHATI: Assam police successfully intercepted a large drug consignment during the early hours of Sunday, as it was being transported from Mizoram to Cachar. The operation led to the apprehension of Lilthlin Laine, who was allegedly involved in the smuggling attempt. The police seized an astonishing 37 containers filled with brown sugar and intoxicating tablets from the smuggler, highlighting the severity of the drug trade in the region.

Moreover, in a proactive anti-drug drive in Tinsukia, the Assam police managed to seize drugs valued at over Rs 20 lakh from Hotel Midtown. This operation resulted in the apprehension of two traffickers who were associated with the illegal drug trade. Additionally, the police confiscated a motorcycle that was used in unlawful operations, further thwarting the efforts of the drug traffickers.

Both of these incidents underscore the relentless and unwavering efforts by the Assam police to curb drug trafficking and safeguard their communities from the menace of narcotics.
