Guwahati: With the rising cases of cybercrime in the country, the police departments in different states, have adopted several methods to raise awareness about the same.
In one of such attempts, the Assam Police too has come up with a different way of alerting masses about the online scam and OTP frauds.
In its latest public service announcement, the state police have used Baba Sehgal's beatboxing to reply to someone who asks for a one-time password.
Taking to the micro-blogging site Twitter, the Assam Police shared a video of rap by Baba Sehgal.
''Scammers ko kardo tum confuse; OTP share karne se kar do refuse," Assam police wrote with a hashtag #ThinkBeforeYouShare.
Taking it further, ADGP of Assam Police Hardi Singh too shared the creative post and tweeted, ''Rap hai ya phir koi rhyme hai! OTP dene se hota cyber crime hai!! (It is either rap or a rhyme! giving OTP is cyber crime)."
Soon after the tweet went viral on Twitter, netizens expressed their love for the creative post.
One Twitter user wrote, ''It's an awesome way.'' Another user asserted, ''What I learned from the incident is, we need to create enough employment opportunity for the youth & provide counseling to prevent them getting derailed from life & take bad decisions. Professional skill development programs have a vital role to play".
