KOKRAJHAR: Assam Police on Monday night recovered arms and ammunition from the Belguri reserve area under Serfanguri police station in Kokrajhar district.
Kokrajhar Superintendent of Police Rakesh Roushan said that on the basis of secret information regarding concealed arms/ammunitions, a search operation was conducted in the jungle area of Belguri under Serfanguri PS under the leadership of Mukut Rabha, ASP (HQ), assisted by Punamjeet Nath, DSP (HQ), and SI Swmdwn Hajowari, OC Serfanguri PS, and staff at 9.30 pm on Monday. The arms and ammunition were found concealed under the earth.
The recovered arms and ammunition include one AK-56 rifle, one AK- 56 magazine, one 7.65 mm factory made pistol, one 7.65 mm magazine and 29 rounds of live ammunition of AK. Sources said that follow-up action was taken up.
