Assam Police Recruitment Exam: CCTV, Mobile Jammers To Monitor Illicit Acts

Guwahati: The recruitment examination for Assam Police's constable and other posts will be held on 20 February and mobile jammers have been installed in all the examination centers so as to ensure that there is no foul-play of any sort whatsoever.

Written examinations for at least 9017 posts will be conducted in 76 centers scattered across eight districts in the state on February 20.

The question papers for the exams have been set by The Secondary Education Board of Assam (SEBA).

 Bhaskar Jyoti Mahanta, the director general of police (DGP) of Assam has informed that apart from the installation of CCTV and moving camera surveillance for monitoring purposes, jammers have also been placed so as to prevent the applicants from using any kind of electrical devices like mobile phones. 

The DGP also added that even invigilators and other exam staffs will be barred from taking their mobile phones inside the examination halls.

Furthermore, he asserted that the Assam Police has adopted a 'zero tolerance' policy towards any illegal activities during the recruitment process.

The applicants will need to carry their Aadhar card, voter ID card or driving license for identity proof apart from the Admit cards which were issued for the examinations.

The DGP also requested all the candidates to positively reach their respective exam centers at least one and a half hours before the scheduled time. He further went on to add that heavy frisking will be conducted at the entry.

A special team comprising of police and SEBA officials has been formulated in the districts where the exams will take place just to oversee the recruitment process.

Meanwhile, the Assam Police is hiring for the post of Constable and the total number of vacancies stand at 470. The candidates will have to undergo physical standard tests along with physical efficiency tests. The last date for applying is 17 March 2022.
