Sonapur: In a major development, Assam Police on Wednesday seized drugs worth Rs 130 crores and arrested two youths, who hail from Manipur.

According to reports, the police acted on a tip-off last night, the Crime Branch unit of the state Police in Sonapur recovered the drugs in a truck at a toll gate.

These drugs were brought from Manipur to Assam.

The seized contraband items included 4.6 lakh YABA tablets, 12 kilograms of Metamphetamine and 1.5 kilograms of heroin.

Taking to the micro-blogging site Twitter, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Wednesday said,'' Another major success by @assampolice!

In a major op led by Bibekananda Das, ADCP East & Nabajit Nath, OC Sonapur, 4.6 lakh Yaba tablets, 12 kg Metamphetamine and 1.5 kg Heroin have been seized. Two accused apprehended.
