Assam: Police Sub-Inspector and two constables arrested in Bongaigaon

Guwahati: The Special Branch of Bongaigaon Police last night arrested three Police personnel of Gerukabari Police Outpost in the Bongaigaon district. Sub-Inspector Pritam Das, the in-charge of the station, as well as two constables, have been arrested. The trio is being forwarded to the Court.

"SI Pritam Das, IC of Gerukabari PP Bongaigaon along with a Constable and Ex-Home Guard have been arrested in connection with Manikpur PS case No. 390/20 U/S 120 B / 384 IPC RW Sec 7 PC Act and being forwarded to the Court," Assam Additional Director General of Police (Law and Order), G P Singh, wrote on Twitter.

It needs mention here that recently, the Bongaigaon Police was condemned for its failure to nab one of the accused involved in the SI exam scam, Rubul Hazarika.

Yesterday, Assam Police personnel conducted raids in the houses of Akshay Chand Baid and Rubul Hazarika in Bongaigaon in the SI recruitment exam scam case. Akshay Chand Baid is the owner of Akshay Telecommunication, the company which got a sub-contract for conducting the Police SI Recruitment Exam. Rubul Hazarika, a partner in this company, has gone absconding from Bongaigaon.
