Assam Polls 2021: Attack on Thowra Congress candidate Sushanta Borgohain

DEMOW: Sensation prevailed in Thowra ahead of the Assembly polls when Sushanta Borgohain, INC candidate for Thowra Constituency alleged that he was attack by a gang of BJP supporters on Monday. According to sources, Sushanta Borgohain was busy in an election campaign which was held in Rajmai Tea Estate Rajan Gaon in Thowra constituency on Monday. It is alleged that at that time, the BJP workers came with sharp weapons and sticks and tried to attack Borgohain by shouting Kushal Dowari zindabad, Congress murdabad. They allegedly attacked Borgohain and his bodyguard following which both were injured. Moreover, stones were allegedly hurled at Borgohain's car. He left the election campaign and lodged an FIR at the Demow Police Station.
