Assam Power Distribution Company Limited: Work on setting up of free smart meters continues

GOLAGHAT: The installation of smart meters in Golaghat district is being done completely free of cost by the Assam Power Distribution Company Limited. These smart meters will allow consumers to stay at home and get detailed information about electricity consumption. This has been stated in a notice released by the Assam Power Distribution Company limited. It also said that this will enable consumers to be aware of the misuse of electricity and save both their own time and content. It is a landmark step towards reform and development of the power sector in the State.

In this regard, a public awareness meeting was also held on Thursday under the aegis of the Chief Executive Officer of Golaghat Zilla Parishad at Golaghat Circuit House. Consumers have been urged by the Power Department to be a part of the reform-oriented initiatives of the state’s power sector by assisting the Power Department in installing smart meters.
