Assam: Power Minister’s effigy burnt

MORIGAON: At a time when the State Government has declared regular power supply in the State, erratic power supply has irked people in the district.

The All Assam Students’ Union (AASU) strongly protested against the erratic power supply and burnt the effigy of State Power Minister Nandita Gorlosa at Morigaon town on Saturday evening. Alongwith the rest of the district committees AASU Sadar committee led by president Ghanandra Bora and secretary Pranabjyoti Barman strongly criticized the State Government for failure to supply power 24X7, which the goverment had promised before they came to power in the State. The organization also demanded that the State Power Minister to resign as she had failed to provide regular power supply in the State.
