DOOMDOOMA: Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) (I) President Ripun Bora visited Baghjan on Friday and interacted with the affected people of the massive fire at its BGR 5 Oil blowout well. Out of nine such shelter camps, Bora accompanied by former MP and ACMS (Assam Chah Mazdoor Sangha) president Paban Singh Ghatowar, local MLA Durga Bhumij and APCC(I), former Jorhat MLA Rana Goswami visited Bandarkhati, Rupai TE and Kordoiguri LP school camps.
The Congress (I) President said that the fire should be immediately stopped and if necessity arises more foreign experts should be engaged. He further said that before coming to here he had submitted on behalf of the Congress (I) party two memoranda - one on coal mining at Dihing-Patkai elephant corridor and one about the spewing of gas and subsequent inferno at Oil's Baghjan well to Governor. Today he had a meeting with OIL's CMD.
