GUWAHATI: On April 7, President Droupadi Murmu is scheduled to attend the Gauhati High Court's Platinum Jubilee festivities during a two-day visit to Assam.
During the High Court's Platinum Jubilee festivities, also in attendance will be Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud, Chief Justice of the Gauhati High Court Sandeep Kataria, Union Law Minister Kiren Rijiju, Assam Governor Gulab Chand Kataria, and Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.
Beginning on April 6, President Murmu will visit the state for two days. The President will also attend the Gaj Festival 2023 in Kaziranga National Park during her visit to the state, according to a representative for the High Court on Sunday, and she will launch the smartphone app "Bhoroxa" for women's safety.
On April 1, the Chief Justice XI and Chief Minister XI teams played a friendly cricket match to kick off the High Court's weeklong platinum jubilee celebrations. On April 5, Rijiju will unveil a commemorative stamp honouring the High Court, and the Chief Minister will unveil the Assamese translation of the book "Gauhati High Court: History and Legacy."
In addition to attending the festivities on April 6, Union Shipping and Waterways Minister Sarbananda Sonowal will also publish six books on the customary laws of the Rabha, Tiwa, Zeme-Naga, and Bodos of Assam, the Nyishis of Arunachal Pradesh, and the Halams of Tripura.
Together with these two apps, the Chief Justice of India would also incorporate CIS and e-Prisons software into the online e-sewa Kendra for Assam. On April 8, there will be a lecture given by UU Lalit, a former Chief Justice of India.
Himanta Biswa Sarma, the chief minister of Assam, goes over preparations before Droupadi Murmu's visit to the Kaziranga Elephant Festival.
President Murmu will be making her second trip to the state. The locations of the event will vary around Kaziranga, but they won't be chosen until after a high-level discussion. Every year, the Assam’s Kaziranga National Park hosts the Elephant Festival. The festival is jointly held by Assam's Forest Department and Tourism Department in an effort to raise awareness of the Asiatic elephant's need for protection and conservation.
