Assam; Raax Leela staged in Lakhimpur district

LAKHIMPUR: The Raax Leela, showcased by female artistes in Dhakuakhana subdivision of Lakhimpur district managed to enthrall the public to a great extent. The show was organized by villagers of Baligaon under the subdivision by following the tradition. This year the celebration of the Raax Festival by the village under the management of the youths entered in the 72nd year. The organizer said that female artistes, aged over even sixty years also played roles in the staging of the Raax Leela of Lord Krishna. Thousands of audience assembled around the stage in the village to enjoy the show. On the occasion, the village turned to be a place of confluence of various tribes and communities expressing their devotion to Lord Krishna.
