BONGAIGAON: Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel rescued four minor children on Saturday while performing train escorting duty on Train no-22449 Down, New Delhi Porvotar Sampark Kranti Express, from Kamakhya to New Bongaigaon railway station.

As stated by Inspector of RPF, New Bongaigaon, during their duty rescued four minor boys who were travelling alone by this train and on being asked, the minor boys stated that they are going to Jalpaiguri, West Bengal without any guardian. Thereafter, the minor boys were taken to RPF Post New Bongaigaon for further action. On further interrogation, it was learnt that the rescued boys had fled from Snehalaya Child Line Guwahati.

After observing all the formalities, the rescued minor boys were handed over to the Superintendent of Birjhora Children’s Home, Bongaigaon for further rehabilitation.
