GUWAHATI: On 30th of December, Monday, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, declared that the iconic Rang Ghar will be placed in the world tourist map. 

The CM tweeted regarding the same and mentioned that the matter has been discussed with leading citizens of Sivsagar. Further, The CM revealed that, Public Works Department (PWD), has decided to sanction 83 bighas of land in Rang Ghar to enhance and modify the place with upgraded facilities. 

Himanta Biswa Sarma also takes up duty for completion and modification of the iconic structure. The cabinet has decided that, in the next budget list, funds will assigned for the beautification of Rang Ghar as well as Talatal Ghar. 

The state administration has outlined a plan to give a new transformation to the state-of-the-art theatre, heritage village and indigenous village around Rang ghar. This has been announce by CM Himanta Biswa Sarma on Monday.

Additionally, the CM also had a chat with the senior district administration personnels in order to share views and discuss varied schemes that are being incorporated in the region. It is worth mentioning here that, PWD has constructed a model to add up more beauty in and around Rang Ghar.

PWD mentioned it in the presence of Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma, Assam Housing & Urban Affairs and Irrigation Minister Ashok Singhal, Tourism, Minister Jayanta Malla Baruah. The project has a capacity 2,000-5,000 amphitheaters, stalls to promote traditional attires and local cuisines, added Himanta Biswa Sarma.

Rang Ghar is 3km away from Sivasagar, and is a two storied building reflecting rich architecture of Ahom Kingdom. Chief Minister, Himanta Biswa Sarma is scheduled to inaugurate multiple projects on Monday in Dibrugarh district. The state administration is continuously bringing up ideas to enhance the tourism department of the state.
