DULIAJAN, August 01: Panic gripped the residents of Duliajan, Assam, after a terrifying gas leak was reported on Tuesday, followed by a loud explosion sound. The incident occurred near the Oil India Limited (OIL) installed gas pipeline, triggering fear and concern among the people residing in the vicinity.

The massive explosion sound and subsequent gas leak have raised concerns about the potential risk of a massive inferno in the area. Residents are anxious as they fear for their safety and the safety of their properties. As news of the gas leak spread, locals expressed their distress over the lack of immediate measures taken by the authorities to control the situation. The absence of prompt action has added to the sense of panic and uncertainty among the residents. The authorities have been urged to intervene swiftly and implement necessary measures to contain the gas leak and ensure the safety of the residents. Prompt action is essential to prevent any further escalation of the situation and potential hazards posed by the gas leak.

Moreover, the Assam Gas Company reported a gas leak event, which immediately caused panic among the locals of Panitola Village in Assam's Tinsukia district. The Assam Gas Company apparently has not yet taken any action in response to the situation, leaving the villagers in fear and confusion. The crisis is being managed, according to sources. Four months ago, a panic spread through the neighbourhood as a result of an uncontrollable gas condensate discharge from an oil well owned by Oil India Limited (OIL) at Baghjan in the Tinsukia district of eastern Assam. According to officials, a technical issue caused the gas leakage to be discovered in a suction pipe on the surface level of the OIL-owned BGI well in Baghjan. Over three years have passed since the Baghjan oil well blowout and fire of 2020.
