Assam: Retired government officer Pauramduing Jeme joins Bharatiya Janata Party

HAFLONG: Former Assistant Director, Handloom and Textile, Pauramduing Jeme ceremonially joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Dima Hasao district committee at the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Bhawan, Haflong on Saturday.

Jeme joined the BJP party along with six others in presence of Manab Deka, MLA of Lakhimpur, Donpainon Thaosen, Dima Hasao BJP district president, and other leaders. District president DonpainonThaosen said that joining of the former government officer had made the party stronger. He added that more people from different constituencies would join the party soon.

Jeme, who is also a retired Cultural Officer, Deputy Director Town and Country Planning etc. said that he joined the party since he had seen development in the district during the tenure of the present BJP-led Dima Hasao Autonomous Council. He added that through the party he could remain connected to the people and serve them accordingly, while strengthening the BJP at the same time. Jeme is a popular person, known for his sincerity and honesty. He once held as many as 11 departments as officer in-charge.
