Guwahati: Riding high on confidence, Trinamool Congress (TMC) national general secretary Abhishek Banerjee on Wednesday said that he will do everything to throw the BJP government out of power in Assam.

The TMC leader today landed in Guwahati to inaugurate the party office in the capital city of the state apart from seeing overall growth.

''TMC has fought till the last wherever the TMC has entered. We will fight to evict the BJP in two years. I won't budge until we win in this state, '' he said while addressing party workers at a programme in Machkhowa.

''We won't look back once we start fighting,'' he added.

Banerjee further exuded confidence his party will form government in both Tripura and Meghalaya, where assembly elections are due next year.

Riding high on confidence, he also claimed that he will fight and win 10 seats of 14 Lok Sabha seats which will take place in two years.

Notably, TMC is gearing up to expand its footprint in northeastern states and Banerjee visiting Guwahati is one of such steps.

Recently, the TMC appointed its new Assam unit president, Ripun Bora, who joined the Mamata Banerjee-led party last month after quitting Congress.

The party is looking forward to strengthening its foothold in the state in the wake of the upcoming Tripura 2023 Assembly elections for which the party has claimed victory. Apart from these, TMC is also preparing for the upcoming panchayat elections in Assam.
