Assam Rifles Battalion celebrates 77th Independence Day with locals in Sonitpur

Assam Rifles Battalion, under the aegis of HQ Inspector General Assam Rifles (East), celebrated the 77th Independence Day with Ex-servicemen of Lokra village of the Sonitpur district, students of Gyan Vikash Academy School and local populace of Lokra and Laberghari village.

JAMUGURIHAT: Assam Rifles Battalion, under the aegis of HQ Inspector General Assam Rifles (East), celebrated the 77th Independence Day with Ex-servicemen of Lokra village of the Sonitpur district, students of Gyan Vikash Academy School and local populace of Lokra and Laberghari village.

The National Flag was hoisted by the Commandant of the battalion and the National Anthem was played. A solemn speech was given by the Commandant of the Battalion to pay homage to the brave martyrs of the country and he also addressed the ex-servicemen for their selfless service to the country. Then the speaker discussed in brief the significance of Independence Day. In the middle of the event, flags were distributed to all attendees to promote Har Ghar Tiranga.

Later, students of the Gyan Vikash Academy presented patriotic songs and poems. Teachers conducted lectures on freedom fighters. There was a feeling of pride and patriotism in everyone’s heart. A total of 126 people attended the event.
