Assam: Schedule Caste Yuba Chatra Parishad stages protest in Golaghat District

GOLAGHAT: Activists of the Schedule Caste Yuba Chatra Parishad (SCYCP) staged a protest near the Golaghat District Commissioner’s office on Monday.

The activists shouted slogans against the state government. Talking to the media, the president of the organization, Reba Hazarika, raised the demand for a 100 percent increase in the amount of scholarship for scheduled caste students, regular payment of scholarship to scheduled caste students, autonomous governance for scheduled castes at the earliest, filling up of the backlog of posts meant for scheduled caste people, etc.
