Guwahati: Dibrugarh district administration ordered the closure of five schools in the district for a week on Friday, following recurrent increases in Covid-19 instances in the schools.

The school namely Nandeswar Chakravorty HS School in Dibrugarh (15 cases), Sepon Hatipati High School in Sepon (8 cases), Chachani Jamunamukh HS School in Chachani Jamunamukh (9 cases), Tipling Girls High School in Tipling (11 cases), Naharkatia HS School in Naharkatia HS School in Naharkatia HS School in Naharkatia HS School in Naharkatia HS School (11 cases), are going to closed for a week.

Dipika Choudhury, Dibrugarh's Inspector of Schools, ordered the closure of five schools in the Dibrugarh district for seven days after many Covid-19 positive cases were discovered on the premises.

The schools will re-open after 7 days with the due permission of the Deputy Commissioner of Dibrugarh.

On the other side, the Assam Higher Secondary Education Council, or AHSEC, has released the Assam Higher Secondary (HS) Exam Routine (Class 12 board exams) for the year 2022. Exams for the 12th grade will begin on March 15, 2022, and will end on April 12, 2022. The high school exams will be held in two shifts, with the morning shift running from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. and the afternoon shift running from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.

The practical examinations for class 12 will take place from February 21 to March 10, 2022. All exams will be conducted in offline mode, in accordance with COVID-19 safety guidelines.
