DHUBRI: A school headmaster of Gaspara Primary School No. 377 in Dhubri, was arrested for allegedly providing fake and fraudulent school documents. The victim was identified as Abdul Salam Sheikh, a resident of Gaspara village located near Indo-Bangla border of the district,while he was in-charge Headmaster in March 2014. The 377 No Primary School is located in Gaspara area of Dhubri near the Indo-Bangladesh border.

Abdul Salam Sheikh is now serving as the permanent Headmaster of the school. A source informed that in 2018, Jahanara Khatun, daughter of Zamiruddin Seikh of Ghiumari village in Gaspara area of Dhubri, was arrested for forging her school identity card and admission register book . Later, it was came into light that the documents were provided by the Headmaster Abdul Salam Sheikh were allegedly fake.

Jahanara Khatun, submitted the documents to the court in a case filed by the Foreigners Tribunal under WP(C) No. 2608/2023 in the Guwahati High Court. The Guwahati High Court had sent the documents to Dhubri police for authentication and verification. Dhubri police later sent it to forensic laboratory wherein it was found the documents were tempered, source further informed. Abdul Salam Sheikh after arrest on Wednesday was produced in the Dhubri Court and was sent to judicial custody.
