Guwahati: The government of Assam has issued SOPs for reopening of schools from November 2. The schools were closed for a period of almost eight months due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Classes for students of VI, VIII, X, and XII will be conducted on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. For the students of VII, IX and XI, classes will be conducted on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.

The school administrations have been asked to follow all the safety protocols of COVID-19. Sanitisation of the campus premises has to be done every weekend. Before the reopening of the schools, all the teaching and non-teaching staff members have been asked to undergo a Rapid Antigen Test (RAT). They will also have to do periodic testing at an interval of 30 days.

The temperature of all the students and teachers will have to be checked through thermo scanner every day.

The schools cannot enforce compulsory attendance on the students. Sending the child to the school would completely depend upon the parents.
