DOOMDOOMA: Central Library, Bir Raghab Moran Government Model (BRMGM) college, Doomdooma, in collaboration with IQAC cell organized an ICSS sponsored two-day national seminar on the theme, “Achievements of Indian Women : with reference to villages, youth environment, defence and economy.”

Principal Dr. Amorjit Saikia gave the opening speech for the seminar. He discussed how important it was for the women to have a variety of roles in various aspects of life. This was followed by the inauguration speech given by Circle Officer, Doomdooma Revenue Circle Rananmay Bharadwaj.

Principal of Sadiya College, Dr. Bhupen Chutia, and the Principal of Doomdooma College, Dr. Kamaleswar Kalita, discussed the value of women and emphasized their accomplishments in a variety of fields.

Dr. Sanjay Kumar Singh, Professor of Gauhati University, Department of Library and Information Science, briefly discussed the contributions and accomplishments of women throughout a wide range of fields, including science and a variety of other occupations like piloting. Additionally, Professor Akhandanand Shukla of NEHU’s Department of Library and Information Science offered his opinions on the significance of women. Women’s contributions are essential in practically every area of life, whether they are in sports, politics, the armed forces, or are from rural areas.

Associate Professor Madhumita Purkayasta of DHSK College delivered the keynote address. She discussed the status of women in the modern world. She pushed for initiatives focused on concrete actions to improve women’s lives.

Despite being relatively a nascent organisation, BRMGM college pulled off a successful maiden national seminar, which had 88 papers presented in both online and offline formats and over 120 attendees from the whole of India.

With the constant efforts of the Principal of the college Dr Amorjit Saikia, the co-ordinators, Dr Sanjay Kumar Maurya and Dr Mithun Mondal and Md.Aktar Hussain, along with all the faculty members and non- teaching staff, the event made its way to its successful completion. Many eminent professors and researchers from northeast India attended the event making it a very enriching one. The seminar came to closure with the valedictory session and the vote of thanks was delivered by Md. Aktar Hussain.
