Assam: Seven gamblers arrested in Barpeta district

BARPETA: Seven gamblers were arrested at Banboriya, Bishnupur under Barpeta police station in Barpeta district on Wednesday by Barpeta police. They are Nakumuddin (32), son of Ranjan Ali, Bheraldi, Hohidul Islam (40), son of Mofiz Ali, Bhella, Shohidul Islam (34), son of Kolim Ali, Banboriya, Rajiv Alu (24), son of Saiju Ali, Banboriya, Samsul Ali (40), son of Nur Hussain, Banboriya, Rakibul Hussain (40), son of Tazmul Hussain, Banboriya, Abdul Latif (49), Haripur, Barpeta. Police also recovered Rupees 38000 in cash, 4 mobile handset, 72 playing cards. A case (no 365/23/U/S 14/15/16 Under Assam Game and Betting Act 1970) was also registered. They were produced in court on Thursday.
