Assam: SHG Credit Camp organized at Morigaon District Library

MORIGAON: With an effort to ensure financial inclusion of SHG members through bank credit linkage, a district level SHG Credit Camp was organized at Morigaon District Library on Wednesday. The camp was organized by the District Mission Management Unit of Assam State Rural Livelihood Mission, Morigaon (Panchayat and Rural Development Department) in collaboration with Assam Gramin Vikash Bank Regional Office, Guwahati.

The credit camp was inaugurated by Krishna Baruah, State Mission Director, ASRLM in presence of District Commissioner Devashis Sarma, Khitish Ch. Pegu, CEO, Zilla Parishad, Morigaon, Pritam Kashyap, Project Manager, ASRLM, Regional Manager, AGVB, District Development Director, NABARD, Morigaon, Chief District Manager, RSETI, Morigaon’s Director, Dhiraj Nath, District Project Manager, ASRLM, Morigaon, and other District and Block Officers of ASRLM.

The CEO of MZP urged all SHG members to contribute to the rural economy of Morigaon district through proper use of bank loans. Furthermore, the Morigaon District Commissioner urged the SHGs to make a proper plan for sustainable utilization of bank loans so that it helps them build their resources for their long term utilization. The State Mission Director also encouraged the SHG members through his words, where he emphasized on women empowerment through SHG movement and contribution of SHGs in social and economic platform for path breaking initiatives through their livelihood and social development initiatives and acknowledged the importance.
