Assam: Singer Simanta Shekhar and flutist Dipak Sarma set to join BJP

Guwahati: In the lead up to the crucial Assembly elections in 2021, people belonging to different walks of life from Assam have started to joining either the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) or the rival Congress camp.

After renowned figures including Vidya Sagar, Asha Bordoloi, and Jatin Bora joined the BJP, singer Simanta Shekhar and flutist of international repute Dipak Sarma are all set to be inducted into the saffron party on Tuesday.

It is to be mentioned that BJP has already got several popular artistes of Assam as the active workers of the party.

On the other hand, popular singer Babu Baruah is all set to join the Congress party and is expected to get a ticket to contest the polls.
