Assam: Social worker Pranabjit Chaliha resident of Sivasagar, passes away

DEMOW: Pranabjit Chaliha (Romu), an Assam Movement leader, social worker, sports organizer and a resident of Sivasagar, passed away on Wednesday while he was undergoing treatment in a hospital. He was suffering from old-age ailments. Thowra MLA Sushanta Borgohain and the local organizations of Demow condoled his demise. A one-minute silence was observed for Pranabjit Chaliha before the start of the Indo-Bangladesh International Handball Championship at Demow Public Field on Wednesday evening. Pranabjit Chaliha leaves behind his wife, son and a host of relatives.
