Guwahati: Saurav Chordia, who hails from Basugaon in Chirang district of Assam, is the man behind the patch design for the Golden Arrow Squadron which will come into existence with the induction of the new Rafale fighter jets.

Chordia, a 3D graphic designer, is currently employed in a gaming firm based in Delhi. He has also designed patches for other units such as the Tejas Squadron and the Surya Kiran Aerobatic Team.

"I'm a civilian who was assigned the task by the squadron to design a patch exclusively for the unit. This will be the first squadron with Rafale Jets in Indian Air Force", he told media.

"Last year, before Rajnath Singh went to France, the squadron gave me this task. I embedded their logo on the patch which is Golden Arrows along with their symbol of the Himalayan Eagle and the Rafale Jet with a pinch of Indian colors", he added further.

The Rafale fighter jets are going to be added to the Indian Air Force soon. These fighter jets reportedly have the capacity to strengthen the defence forces' capabilities and firepower more.

These fighter jets have left France for India today and will soon be part of Golden Arrow, the new 17th squadron of Indian Air Force, after they reach India on July 29 in Ambala.
