HATSINGIMARI: In a bizarre incident, a property-related conflict led to a son burning down the house of his aged mother. This incident took place in the Telipara village under the Mankachar police station of the South Salmara Mankachar District of the state.
75-year-old Samina Beuwa, a resident of the Telipara village alleged that her son Abdus Samad used to mentally harass her demanding a part of her property. And later set fire to her house. She also mentioned that he chased her out of her house, before setting the same on fire.
Meanwhile, the incident triggered an outrage among the local people and they demanded proper action against the woman’s son. It can be noted that the woman was unable to walk properly, so the state had given her a wheelchair to move around. Along with the rest of her belongings, this wheelchair was also burnt in the fire. Also, Abdus Samad was her adopted son from one of their relatives and she had two daughters of her own.
It was also mentioned that he had also attacked her grandson with sharp objects a few days back, resulting in serious injuries and admission to the Gauhati Medical College Hospital for further treatment. Meanwhile, she has filed a complaint against her adopted son and a few of his helpers with the appeal that they be arrested soon and proper punishment be awarded to them. Also, the perpetrator and his accomplices are absconding from the police after this complaint was filed.
Last week, in a shocking incident, the mother murdered her own child soon after birth as the newborn was a girl. This bizarre incident took place in the Itakhola region of the state on Thursday. Anowara Khaton, wife of Sofikul Seikh committed this act of child murder. They are residents of the Bandor Jonghol locality of Itakhola. Anowara Khaton reportedly murdered her newborn girl child and later buried the body.
