JAMUGURIHAT: Sootea MLA Padma Hazarika distributed free bicycles to the students of class IX in a bicycle distribution ceremony organized at Balijuri High School, in the northern part of Jamugurihat on Wednesday. Addressing the gathering, MLA Hazarika briefly stated about various welfare schemes undertaken by the State government. He further announced a financial pakage of rupees three lakhs for the infrastructure development of the school from his MLA fund. MLA Padma Hazarika also added that Balijuri area which shares boundary with Arunachal Pradesh is a fertile land for agriculture. The agri-economic contribution of Balijuri area is noteworthy. An agriculture office to guide the peasants will be set up at Balijuri very soon, he added. Padma Hazarika also informed that he will take special initiative to establish a veternary hospital at Balijuri area. All the proceedings of the ceremony were conducted by Shiva Amgain and Binoy Goutam. The event was attended by Lakhi Kanta Bora, president of Sootea Anchalik Panchayat, Kishor Dahal, ZPC member along with other dignitaries.
