Assam: Special trains launched for Chhath Puja

NAGAON:  A team of senior railway officials from NE frontier railways rushed to Lumding railway station on Friday evening and inspected the facilities as well as other security measures being initiated ahead of Chhath Puja by the station authority.

During the visit, the senior railway officials interacted with the railway passengers at the station and took stock as well as other feedback from them. The senior railway officials also ceremonially launched 15 additional special trains and other three special trains from Dibrugarh to Gorakhpur, from Tinsukia to Gorakhpur and New Tinsukia to Madhubani on the occasion of upcoming Chhath Puja.

The railway team consists of Prem Ranjan Kumar, regional manager, Kapinjal Kishore Sarma, manager, Commerce; Sulabh Bist, senior DME, and assistant RPF superintendent.
