GUWAHATI: The new IPL location in Guwahati, the Assam Cricket Association Stadium at Barsapara, was unable to provide parking for the spectators. Several spectators at the Barsapara stadium for the IPL game between the Rajasthan Royals and the Punjab Kings expressed dissatisfaction with the inadequate parking options. 

The attendees said that parking their cars outside the stadium cost them Rs 300. Few spectator, stated, "After spending so much on the tickets, we assumed that there would be appropriate parking facilities for vehicles—both two-wheelers and four-wheelers." 

The majority of fans had to park their automobiles on the sides of the highways surrounding the Barsapara ACA Stadium due to the stadium complex's lack of parking space. The private parking lots charged Rs 300 for cars and Rs 100 for motorcycles. 

More than 40,000 people can sit in the Assam Cricket Association stadium in Guwahati, which opened on October 17, 2017. The Assam Cricket Association stadium in Guwahati is hosting two IPL games for the first time this season. 

On April 8, the Rajasthan Royals and Delhi Capitals will play their second game. The Assam Cricket Association's secretary, Tridip Konwar, could not be reached for comment on the parking situation during the opening IPL game in Guwahati. 

On October 21, 2018, the ACA stadium hosted the maiden ODI match. 

The DCP underlined the roadmap and the steps taken to maintain a secure environment for both players and spectators during a news conference. The revelation about vehicular travel was one of the press conference's main themes. 

According to the Deputy Commissioner, automobiles can go from Barsapara to Lokhra, but they cannot approach from Lokhra. Moreover, both the highway and AK Dev Road forbid the use of heavy vehicles. These precautions have been taken in order to guarantee a smooth flow of traffic and to prevent any undesirable situations. 

Also, it was made known that some objects, including helmets, water bottles, and others, are not permitted inside the stadium. In order to protect everyone's safety and prevent any objects from being thrown into the playing field during the games, this decision has been made.
