LAKHIMPUR: The Assam State Committee of Manab Adhikar Sangram Samiti (MASS) filed a complaint at the Human Rights Commission regarding the controversial death of Kanya Patgiri at Lakhimpur Medical College and Hospital (LMCH). Notably, this woman, who was a resident of Rangamuri under Gahpur area of Biswanath district, died on June 2 due to alleged professional misconduct of the attending doctor during the time of her caesarean operation and non-availability of fuel in generator. Regarding the issue, the complaint was filled by MASS secretary Raju Singha on Wednesday. 'Providing no treatment to the patient' was termed as 'extreme violation of human rights' by the organization in the written complaint and the organization appealed to the Chairperson of the Human Rights Commission to provide justice to the victim's family.
