GUWAHATI: The state government has launched an app and portal to inform the new generation about Lachit Borphukan, to give details about his contribution. The web portal and app named Lachit Borphukan was launched by Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma.

Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma said, "On November 24, the people of the state will celebrate Lachit Divas. That day is going to be a milestone this time. The 400-year-old birth anniversary began at Kalakshetra, which was inaugurated by former President Ram Nath Kovind. I want to launch a special programme from today in order to know what the new generation thinks about Lachit Borphukan. The program will let people write for Lachit Borphukan, '' says CM Sarma.

In this app, one can express his or her feelings regarding Lachit Borphukan by writing them down. The citizens of the country will be able to express their emotions through this in addition to those of other nations. It can be written on paper and uploaded to the app or portal. The paper will automatically be uploaded to the platform. If someone doesn't want to write on the application, they can write on the portal, stated the CM.

On November 18, there will also be essay competitions for schools and colleges. The pre-formatted system is available for the district collectors to use. On a district basis, this essay will be chosen from the competition. Universities will also be eligible to compete. Beginning on the 18th, the district collectors will distribute the physical format.

The Chief Minister added that work has begun to prepare the book of Lachit Borphukan. According to sources, the book would be released by the Prime Minister on Lachit Day. The CM continued, "Work on producing a documentary about Lachit Borphukan has also started." On November 23, Amit Shah will inaugurate it. The documentary will eventually air on both national and international channels.

"There will be a national-level seminar on November 23 and 24, where the Prime Minister and Home Minister of the country are scheduled to be present. The home minister will release the documentary on Lachit Borphukan. The tomb of 10,000 soldiers of "Alabai Rann" will be built in Dadra," said Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma.
