Assam State Power Workers' Union observes Protest Day

Bongaigaon: Along with other parts of the country, the Assam State Power Workers' Union (ASPWU) observed 'Protest Day' on Monday in Bongaigaon also. In this relation, they staged a two-hour long demonstration. Rajesh Pathak, central secretary of ASPWU, said that the Central Government's conspiracy to privatize the power sector was dangerous. "This will adversely affect the customers along with the employees of the power sector. We will never let it happen. Moreover, the government has got this opportunity to privatize such profit-making sectors only because of some corrupt officials," he said.
