Assam State Urban Livelihood Mission organized Exhibition-fair

Goalpara: An exhibition-fair of production by the Self-Help Groups (SHGs) funded under the Assam State Urban Livelihood Mission (ASULM) was held on Wednesday at Hasilapara bus stand of Goalpara town by the Goalpara Municipality Board (GMB).

Deputy Commissioner and chief guest Varnali Deka inaugurated the exhibition and personally interacted with the members of each group, understood the challenges before them and advised them how to go ahead. The DC ceremonially distributed, in presence of ADC Ashrumoni Malakar, a revolving fund of Rs 15,000 each to 149 women Self-Help Group (SHG)s of Goalpara town under the Assam State Urban Livelihood Mission.

Post-inauguration of the exhibition, Deputy Commissioner Varnali Deka addressed and encouraged the women entrepreneurs. Later, while talking to media persons she said, “My government is committed towards the equal development of both the urban and rural areas. So, the people should avail the benefits of the government schemes,” said Malakar.
