GUWAHATI: On May 15, Sub-Inspector Junmoni Rabha, an Assam Police senior officer passed away after the car she was driving struck with a container truck.

According to a report, around at 2 am, Junmoni Rabha was driving her Maruti car with the registration number ED AS 01 EN 7273 towards Upper Assam when she was involved in an accident. Rabha's vehicle collided with container truck number 78 UT 4518 traveling from the opposite direction after she lost control.

In 2022, Junmoni Rabha, an Assam police sub-inspector who arrested her fiance on fraud allegations in Nagaon district was detained as Majuli police arrested her in connection with a case against her fiance on multiple counts, including "criminal conspiracy" and "cheating."

Two contractors filed two separate FIRs against Rabha's fiancee, Pogag, citing large financial transactions. They accused Rabha of introducing her fiancé Pogag to them and demanding money so that Pogag could get ONGC contract business for the contractors.

According to sources, while Junmoni was facing corruption accusations, an audio clip became viral on social media, implying that she was implicated in the corruption.

However, Junmoni was questioned by police on June 3, 2022, since her name was included in the FIRs. Meanwhile, Pogag was arrested and is being held in judicial custody in Nagaon under sections 120B, 170, 406, 419, 420, 468, 471, and 472 of the Indian Penal Code.

Later on, Junmoni Rabha was transferred to Kaliabor police station from Nagaon district when allegations against her arose.

Meanwhile, according to reports, multiple FIRs were filed against her at the Majuli Police Station, alleging corruption.

On the other hand, Junmoni rose to fame after making headlines twice when a telephonic conversation between her and Bihpuria MLA went viral with her clearly opposing the MLA's demand.

Previously, Junmoni Rabha's phone conversation with Bihpuria MLA went viral on social media in January in connection with the capture of a boat belonging to a missing tribe, Bihpuria MLA Amiya Kumar Bhuyan allegedly threatened Junmoni Rabha and other police officers not to intercept Mising community & harass them.
