LAKHIMPUR: After reviewing the various aspects of the unnatural death of the accused in police custody, the burning of Batadroba Police Station and the demolishing of the house of the suspected criminal with a bulldozer, the Assam State Committee of SUCI (Communist) condemned the burning of Batadroba Police Station.

In a press statement in this regard, the party said, "Instead of protesting in democratic norms, such rash activities never bring any concrete consequences. Rather, the hands of the reactionary forces are strengthened and the atmosphere of democratic movements is disturbed." Further, demanding for a fair investigation into the incident, the party said that the real culprits should be punished through judicial trial.

"It is very unfortunate that in response, the government and the police administration have destroyed the houses standing on the myadi patta land of Salnabari village with bulldozers and turned them into rubbles. Through this act the judicial trial process has been trampled and the highest power of awarding punishment has been entrusted to the police without trial," the press statement added.
