GUWAHATI : A gruesome episode took place on Wednesday night, where a youth has been severely injured after getting attacked by unidentified miscreants. The incident has been reported from Guwahati's Dispur region. 

The victim has been identified as Abhijit Saikia, son of Supreme Court Lawyer, Nirupama Saikia. Abhijit was attacked during his sleep at his own residence in Dispur's Debdaru path, which is located behind the MLA hostel. 

As per reports, the miscreants attacked him on his stomach and leg. Abhijeet suffered heavy bleeding following the attack, however, was immediately admitted to the GNRC hospital for treatment. As soon as the information was released, a team of Dispur police station rushed to the spot of incident and carried of the investigation process to nab the culprits.

A similar incident took place in Bongaigaon district, on the same day where a brother sister duo was murdered by few unidentified miscreants. As per the sources, the culprits entered the house in the late hours and attacked both the individuals.

Unfortunately, both of them succumbed to their injuries and died on the spot of incident. However, the actual cause of incident is yet to be ascertained by the department.

The deceased has been identified as Ajmal Sheikh and Feroza Begum. On 23rd of January a similar incident occurred, where an owner of a brick kiln has been murdered by some unidentified miscreant.

The incident took place in Assam's Nagaon district. As per the reports, the murder occurred at the Roumari village located near Hatipara of the district on 22nd of January, Sunday. Reportedly, few miscreants broke into his home and knocked him down with some sort of sharp weapons.

The deceased victim has been identified as Mujibur Rahman. He was owned a brick kiln in the region. Nagaon police revealed that Mujibur was also engaged as a teacher in a government high school in the locality. The actual cause of the incident is yet to be ascertained by the police, along with identification of the unknown culprits.

However, an investigation has been launched regarding the matter and the hunt for the killers is on.
