The incident unfolded when vigilant locals noticed the suspicious movements of these three persons in the area on a Sunday night. Acting on their suspicions, the village defense organization took immediate action to apprehend the individuals. Following their apprehension, the detainees were subjected to thorough interrogation.

During the questioning, the trio confessed that they were indeed residents of Bangladesh. Their admission revealed a concerning motive: they had entered Cachar illegally with the intent of smuggling cattle back into Bangladesh.
