GUWAHATI: Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Tuesday officially opened and laid the cornerstones for 12 projects in the Nalbari district as part of the Assam government's initiative to launch a slew of development projects. The project's goal is to make the historic district one of the most forward-thinking in the State.
CM Sarma announced during a program that projects totaling a staggering Rs 40,000 crore would be either inaugurated or launched across various districts in the coming few months.
"The current regime in the state has unleashed a tsunami of growth and development that is a demonstration of the important welfare of all parts of society is being afforded," he continued.
According to a senior government official, the 12 projects that were unveiled on Tuesday cost a total of roughly Rs 680 crore.
The district Sports Stadium Complex at Sariahtoli, is to be completed at a cost of Rs 51 crore, beautification efforts in Nalbari town, are to be carried out at a cost of Rs 106 crore, the integrated Deputy Commissioner's Office Complex, to be upgraded at a cost of Rs 5 crore, a science center and planetarium with the first-ever 3D project, to name a few of the projects inaugurated and launched on Tuesday.
Additionally, a number of road development projects totaling almost Rs 200 crore were launched.
According to the Chief Minister, these measures have the potential to drastically change the Nalbari district and make it one of the most advanced districts in the future on numerous fronts.
He made a plea to the district's residents for their support and cooperation in the government's effort to improve their socio-economic and educational conditions.
According to a previous source, the state has devoted the current week to developing the infrastructure throughout the state.
In this timeframe, it was reported earlier that Rs 15000 Cr will be invested across the state's eleven districts. Additionally, the chief minister launched projects worth around Rs 700 Cr in the Bongaigaon district.
And he visited Nalbari, the second day, and announced initiatives there that would cost nearly as much. On his visit, he also officially opened a number of finished projects.
