DIBRUGARH: A trade expo to encourage local entrepreneurs will be organized by the Department of Industries and Commerce at Chowkidingee field here from September 28 to October 8, 2023.
Talking to media persons, State Industries and Commerce Minister Bimal Borah said, “The trade expo will be organized at Chowkidingee field in Dibrugarh to encourage local entrepreneurs and to give them a good environment. Our Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma’s vision is Atmanirbhar Asom and to fulfill his vision, we have taken a slew of measures to encourage the local entrepreneurs of Assam.”
“The trade expo will be held from September 28 to October 8 at Chowkidingee. More than 140 stalls will participate in the expo with their traditional items and handicrafts. Around 40 stalls from outside Assam will also participate in the expo to feature their items and only one stall from outside India will participate,” Borah informed.
He said, “A pre-Atmanirbhar Asom awareness programme will be organized in the trade expo where Tinsukia, Sivasagar, Dhemaji, Charaideo, Lakhimpur and Dibrugarh will participate. Our main objective is to create new entrepreneurs and motivate them to start their own businesses.”
“A debate and essay competition will be organized in the trade fair among the school and college students. The trade expo will be a platform for our local entrepreneurs to showcase their products,” he added.
