Assam: Tragic Collision Near Radisson Blue Hotel Claims One Life

GUWAHATI: In a tragic incident that unfolded on Tuesday night near Guwahati's Radisson Blue Hotel in the Boragaon area, a dumper truck collided head-on with another truck, resulting in the loss of one life and leaving three others with injuries.

The collision took place late at night when a heavily laden dumper truck inexplicably veered into the opposite lane, leading to a catastrophic collision with the oncoming truck. The impact of the crash was so severe that it caused extensive damage to both vehicles involved.

The driver of the dumper truck, identified as Mukut Ali, tragically succumbed to his injuries at the scene. Meanwhile, the three occupants of the other truck, including the driver, sustained injuries of varying degrees and were promptly rushed to the Gauhati Medical College Hospital (GMCH) for urgent medical treatment.

The aftermath of the collision resulted in a significant traffic bottleneck in the vicinity of the Radisson Blue Hotel, causing disruptions to the normal flow of vehicles in the area.

Local law enforcement authorities, the Guwahati city police, swiftly arrived at the scene to manage the chaotic traffic situation. Their efforts involved redirecting vehicles and ensuring the smooth flow of traffic, thereby minimizing the impact of the incident on the local community.

This incident resembles a similar event that transpired just last month in Guwahati's Maligaon area. In that instance, a scooty rider, identified as Fakaruddin Islam from Chaygaon locality in the city, had his right leg severed in a horrifying accident involving a speeding dumper truck.

Islam was riding his scooter towards the Bharalumukh side when the speeding dumper truck collided with him, leading to his right leg becoming trapped under the rear wheel of the truck, with devastating consequences.

The brutality of the incident left bystanders in a state of shock, and local police were alerted immediately. They quickly reached the scene and ensured that the injured individual received prompt medical attention, sending him to a nearby hospital for treatment.

These unfortunate incidents serve as a stark reminder of the need for heightened safety awareness and stringent measures on the road to prevent such accidents, especially in heavily trafficked areas like Guwahati.
