Assam: Training programme for women on e-commerce

NABARD, in association with its local anchor agency - Gramya Unnayan Sangstha and technical training partner M/S East Land Service, organised a two day long special training programme for marketing on e-Commerce, Social Media Platforms and Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC) at Nagaon Swahid Bhavan from November 8 to November 9.

NAGAON: NABARD, in association with its local anchor agency - Gramya Unnayan Sangstha and technical training partner M/S East Land Service, organised a two day long special training programme for marketing on e-Commerce, Social Media Platforms and Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC) at Nagaon Swahid Bhavan from November 8 to November 9. Over hundred of participants from Hojai and Nagaon district attended the programme.

While addressing the inaugural session of the training, DDM-NABARD, Rajendar Perna reiterated that NABARD is committed to supporting all the rural artisans, women SHG members who have a vision and passion to pursue their dreams, who have the zeal to sustain their enterprises and become the role models for others to follow. He further shared that in this mission, he is receiving complete guidance and support from NABARD RO at Guwahati, the District Administrations led by both the District Commissioners, the LDMs/ Bankers/ ASRLM, NGOs, SHG members etc.

During the programme, the TTP M/s East Land Services, delivered demonstrative sessions on topics like models of e-Commerce, SMPs, GST registration, photo shoot, videography, digital payments, packaging, branding, trademark registration, labelling, advertising, storing, marketing etc. Further, the participants have also received guidance from the LDM-Nagaon, the Branch Head of AGVB-Nagaon branch, a local entrepreneur Achinta Sarmah etc.

During the valedictory session, the DDM - NABARD Rajendar Perna referred that in order to enhance the livelihood opportunities of local artisans, farmers, producers including younger artisans and women, NABARD will go ahead to build ‘Vocal for Local’ ecosystem and it has already initiated the process of GI Registration of various products like Assam Japi, Sarthebari Metal Craft, Majuli Mask, Majuli Manuscript Painting, Assam Water Hyacinth Craft, Assam Vrindawani Vastra, Assam Bihu Dhol and Assam Asharikandi Terracotta.
